•As a woven textile designer I use colours and different fibres to create a specific feel to a cloth. I am always drawn to the use of sheer fibres and the interaction of light, movement and shadow, particularly those used in interior spaces.
•
•Colour directs my work, and it is important for me to be able to dye all my own specific colours, which relate back to my sketchbook observations.
•
•More recently my interest has turned towards plant imagery, specifically Allium flowers and the defined shadows created by their seed heads.
•
• I am enthralled by large open spaces of rolling countryside, the contours of the hills and the changing colours of the sky. I like to interpret landscapes and its formal dimensions through line drawing, paper dyeing and Ikat woven cloth.
